Petra Capital, HealthQuest Backs VirMedica's Acquisition

VirMedica Inc., a health-care information company whose software platform that aids the commercialization of specialty pharmaceutical products, said it acquired the assets of TransEngen Inc. with help from Petra Capital Partners along with HealthQuest Capital.

The deal, the terms of which weren't disclosed in a news release, was supported by a $15-million financing led by Petra Capital along with HealthQuest. Under the deal, David Fitzgerald, a partner at Petra Capital, and Garheng Kong, a managing partner at HealthQuest Capital, joined VirMedica's board of directors.
